Ariosophical Undercurrent
Chthonic influence
Why does Ancient Aliens always bring up the nazis? A question that some have asked given that the NSDAP did come up quite often, yet the simplistic answer is that the subculture of ancient aliens is in fact an out growth of the same trends which birthed the NSDAP, the Völkisch Occult movement.
One of the main highlights within ancient aliens is the idea that humanity was engineered, was created by a different extraterrestrial race of beings such as the Annunaki. In the case of the Völkisch Occult Movement, picking up certain ideas and trends from Christian occultism, such as John Dee and the Enochian Angels, and Theosophy, Helena Blavatsky’s movement, an idea came to be shaped that humanity had descended from angelic electric beings. Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels would be one of the main proponents of the notion that the Aryan was descended from the Theozoa, divine electric angels, who fought against the Demonzoa. Aryan man has a fall, in the case of Jörg Lanz this the division of the hermaphorditic Theozoa. Though this seems strange, Jörg Lanz was not the only one who believed in this, as Gudio von List likewise makes reference to extraterrestrial ancestors of Aryan man.
“The moon-ancestors also brought with them to earth the form of the human body as their own possession, which is why the human body bears its particular configuration, showing it to be suddenly arisen and not developed out of the animal body.” [1]
We already see the influence of Jörg Lanz being reflected in Guido von List’s work, which is understandable given that both men worked extremely closely and that Jörg Lanz pushed for von List to “to turn more and exclusively to modern folklore and less to art.” [2] This framework, that being the human form is from a divine or extraterrestrial form whereas the bestial form is a lower of life, is shared by both men. But for some this might not be enough to establish the union of ideas between both men, so more evidence will be provided.
“The two opposing runes, the “man” (moon-) rune ᛉ and the “yr” rune ᛦ symbolize the One (Is, self), who works in the arc, that is, in ascent and descent, in the Theonium as in the Daemonium, and here one may be reminded of what was said about the moon., as well as what is shown in Table III. The “man-rune” is also considered the “mann-rune,” and thus as the rune of humanity, and is therefore connected with the myth of “Mannus” as the son of Tuisco. Furthermore, the secret doctrine teaches that mankind originated on the moon and was transferred from the moon as completed beings to the earth; this is why the Aryan secret doctrine calls the moon ancestors “Pitris”—the “Fathers”—and names Mannus as one of them. ~ Fig. 562, heraldically: red moon-ended cross in silver; Kalisch: wit ruoth redinon man hofut = I know the right (true) Redehaupt knowledge from Mannus, i.e., from the origin of mankind, the secret knowledge of the moon ancestors or Pitris. ~ Fig. 644, heraldic: blue half-sinister and counter-bend in gold; Kalic: bla geold yrmon = I preserve the glory of Yrmon (the moon-ancestor, the great divine Pitri, the Tuisto).” [4]
These are from the The Pictorial Script of the Ario-Germans, meaning that both men where in complete agreement. To them the Aryan man was descended from extraterrestrial beings, electric divine angels in the case of Jörg Lanz and from the moon ancestors in the case of von List.
Ancient alien theorists use the same schema, that advanced extraterrestrial beings came down and subsequently engineered humanity as a slave species. The Anunnaki narrative specifically focuses upon gold harvesting, that humanity was engineered because the Anunnaki needed a race of slaves to mine gold for their dying world. Zecharia Sitchin is the main proponent behind this specific narrative. He was an Azerbaijani-jew who wrote a book called The 12th Planet, which shared translations of 14 tablets related to Enki, a child of the Sumerian supreme deity An. Although Zecharia Sitchin is a jew, Jörg Lanz believed that winged angelic entities enlightened man;
“The heroic human was, in primeval times, artificially and consciously bred by higher, “divinely” organized beings who truly existed on Earth—called the Theozoa or Electrozoa. The ancestor of the heroic human lived in symbiosis (household-community) with these beings (angels, Valkyries). He descends from these beings not only materially, but also in terms of seed and race. The ancestor of man possessed in ancient times an electrical organization similar to that of the Theozoa—he was therefore a “half-god,” a “god-man,” a Theanthropos.” [3]
And there we have it, the exact same narrative minus the gold mining. A group of winged entities descending from outer space who then go on to upbreed a race of man, in this case to create the Ario-Heroic man. Although Zecharia Sitchin reading Jörg Lanz is next to impossible given that Sitchin was from the Soviet Union and jewish, we find the exact same narrative.
But this idea is not just limited to Jörg Lanz or von List, as SS-Man Karl Wiligut shared their opinion that Aryan man was descended from extraterrestrials;
“1st Human Epoch: “Aethar-beings,” found themselves in constant struggle with the “water-beings” taking shape in the same period. They were “sexless” and propagated themselves as Hymir- born’—in the beginning Kymir, later called Angles or Angels—by means of “the concentration of their will,” in order, at a later time, to gain “spiritual” union with the water- beings which were developing with the same made of propagation. How this process could be explained in more detail is not addressed in the “Irmin saga” and without the Runo-tablets it remains inexplicable.” [5]
Aethar-beings, Theozoa, moon ancestors, it’s all the same idea. This was not limited to “minor” SS-Men or non-NSDAP occultists as according to Michael H. Kater in his book, Das Ahnenerbe der SS 1935-1945, Reichsführer-SS Himmler believed the Aryans were not from this planet;
“[Himmler] repeatedly said that the Aryans were not descended from apes like the rest of mankind, but descended from “heaven” to earth like gods. Before they were born on earth, however, they were preserved as living germs in the “eternal” ice of space. These heavenly Germanic ancestors, according to Himmler, had also possessed supernatural powers and knowledge.”
This is backed up by a statement from SS-Sturmbannführer Ernst Schäfer, who was the leader of the Ahnenerbe Tibet expedition;
“Himmler mentioned his belief that the Nordic race did not evolve, but came directly down from heaven to settle on the Atlantic continent.” [6]
But there is one more step, Führer Hitler, who is recorded as saying this;
“From a material perspective, the universe appears to us to consist of the same substances, whether it be the Earth, the Sun, or other stars. To imagine that organic life exists on only one of these worlds is now impossible!” [7]
With that the notion of the NSDAP imagining that other worlds were filled with life, alien life, is reality. Though this does not prove Führer Hitler believed in an extraterrestrial origin of man, however he did hold beliefs which many would say are just as strange, such as the cosmic ice theory of Hanns Hörbiger;
“I am inclined to agree with Hörbiger’s World Ice Theory. Perhaps around the year 10,000 BC, a lunar erosion occurred. It is not impossible that the Earth forced the Moon into its current orbit at that time; it is also possible that what the Moon had around it as its atmosphere engulfed our Earth, thereby fundamentally changing the living conditions of humanity on Earth.” [7]
Having established this, it should then come as a shock that there is a direct connection between Erich von Däniken and the NSDAP. Chariots of the Gods? was edited by Wilhelm "Utz" Utermann, who was a former editor of the Nazi Party’s newspaper Völkischer Beobachter and had been a Nazi bestselling author. Wilhelm “Utz” Utermann extensively rewrote Chariots of the Gods?, meaning that subtly including themes that were indicative of the Völkisch Occult Movement is very much a possibility.'
Another major figure within the ancient aliens subculture would be Robert Charroux, Charroux would influence and be influenced by Erich von Däniken, both were also familiar with The Morning of the Magicians by Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier. This is also backed up by Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke;
“With an evident debt to Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier, Le matin des magiciens (1960) and Pierre Mariel, L Europe paienne du vingtiéme siécle (1964), Charroux also speculates on the Thule Society and Nazi initiates.” [8]
Given this, that Charroux knew of the Thule Society and would speculate upon them, this does give us some basis to speculate on him being influenced by the works of both von List and Jörg Lanz. A side by side comparison for example, starting with Robert Charroux;
“In this sense, the Atlantans and the Hyperboreans were our direct ancestors, the magicians of a civilization of electrical forces, controlled waves and nuclear energy.”
and then Jörg Lanz;
“We were electric, we will be electric, to be electric and to be divine is the same thing! By means of the electric eye primitive man was omniscient, through inner electrical power they were omnipotent. ~ God has both characteristics of electrical radiation, he causes to live and he kills, he heals and he causes disease and hurls lightning-rays”
Very much identical in all but verbiage. What we have here is a higher entity, a Hyperborean/Atlantean for Charroux and the Theozoa for Jörg Lanz, which are able to manipulate electrical forces. Influence from Jörg Lanz is extremely possible in this case. However Charroux’s works are difficult to find but a generally accepted presentation of Charroux comes from Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke;
“In Le Livre des secrets trahis (1964) and Le Livre des maitres du monde (1967), [Robert Charroux] expands on the extraterrestrial origin of the Hyperboreans, their eternal emnity with the Jews, the importance of Venus and the Black Sun.” [8]
Anyone remotely familiar with Miguel Serrano should be seeing immediate parallels. Venus, the black sun, Hyperboreans as extraterrestrials, all of that is present within the works of Miguel Serrano. Serrano even names Charroux and corroborates Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke;
“In the many years of wandering in the desert, ten Hebrew tribes are lost. At the end, only the tribe of Judah, the least morally and intellectually qualified, remains; they descend from a sheidim—half man, half animal—as is made clear by Robert Charroux. Hence comes their obsession with race and with sin, racial sin. ~ The idea of the mixing with the animal has been outlined by Robert Charroux, referring to the story of Esau and Jacob. ~ Charroux tells us that Esau was possibly a Sheidim, an animal-man, engendered by Rebecca in the sexual intercourse with an animal, a common thing in those times, according to this author.” [9]
If I didn’t know better I would say he’s talking about Jörg Lanz. An animal man being created for a sexually degenerate woman? That’s pure Lanzian. Truly Lanz was a man thinking far beyond his own time, as he would even suggest biological machines, genetically engineered human “robots”;
“The proletariat and the subhumanity cannot be improved, cannot be redeemed, and cannot be made happy. They are the work of the devil and must simply—though painlessly and humanely—be abolished. In their place will step biological machines, which will have the advantage over mechanical machines that they can renew and also reproduce themselves from within. Moreover, these biological machines will be able to think independently to the extent that we wish. This idea, which I expressed in 1904, now dominates the world of ideas of the pioneers of humanity in technology, philosophy, and art. The “robot” will be the main problem of the future, for it will solve not only the technical but above all the social and racial-economic problem and thereby also all political and state problems.” [10]
This statement was made in Ostara Nr. 19, the second series of the Ostara magazine with this issue being printed in Vienna between 1926 and 1931. The film Metropolis would come out in 1927, a film which focused upon the class tensions which were then going to be solved with the development of a robot.
Even more startling is that with his four issues of Jakob Lorber The Greatest Ariosophical Medium of the Modern Era, which were put into circulation in 1926, Lanz would again push for the idea of biological robots as the path of the future.
"We must move beyond the mechanical machine to the biological machine, which makes the proletarian superfluous. ~ The future will follow the path of Saturnian economy and will replace the proletarian with biological machines, which will be newly bred animal and plant species."
Building off of the framework of Jakob Lorber, Jörg Lanz posits that the Saturnians teach us a very important lesson, one which resembles Phyrexia of the Magic the Gathering series.
“Saturn gives us an important lesson. Our goal must be: the biologization and organization of technology! It is highly dangerous and uneconomical—as socialism and Bolshevism show—to build our entire culture on purely mechanized technology, on mechanical machines produced and operated by proletarians.” [11]
The idea of compleation, that being the transformation of one’s body into a perfected bio-mechanical form, is one which encapsulates the whole of Yawgmoth’s philosophy and the realm of Phyrexia. To Yawgmoth, becoming a bio-mechanical, demonic looking, entity is seen as reaching divinity. Yawgmoth's philosophy centers around this belief, that the human body is a complex machine that can be perfected through manipulation and enhancement. He sought to eliminate imperfections and diseases, often through cruel and inhumane methods, believing that his creations, the Phyrexians, represented the ultimate form of life. Phyrexian society is entirely post-proletarian in the most extreme sense: no useless laborers, only compleated drones, mycosynth lattices, newts, and biomechanical constructs. Rebellious organic labor are eradicated; everything is optimized, bred/engineered, and controlled.
But, another media comes to mind, Prometheus, the Engineers specifically. The engineers of Prometheus are god like engineers of life, eugenicists on a scale unmatched who speak a Proto–Indo–European language. An interesting choice as this only makes the parallels between the Theozoa of Jörg Lanz and the Engineers. The Engineer’s body in the opening sequence could have been sculpted by Arno Breker himself, a being of pure masculinity who stands over a landscape before committing himself to a religious sacrifice. When we next see the Engineers, they are biomechanical, looking rather similar to the idea of Phyrexia. This is because Phyrexia is influenced by H.R. Giger, the artist behind Alien and Prometheus. It is unknown if Giger even knew of either Jörg Lanz or von List, but he was influenced by Salvador Dalí and Stanisław Szukalski. Salvador Dalí has been described as having a “sick obsession” with Adolf Hitler, and Stanisław Szukalski did create Zermatism. Zermatism is essentially Polish Ariosophy, as it contains ape-men who were against humanity and posited hat all human culture was derived from post-deluge Easter Island. Not a direct connection to Ariosophists, but an interesting note.
To answer the question, why did the show Ancient Aliens always devolve into talking about the NSDAP? Because the whole subculture itself was directly influenced from Nazism. There is no getting away from it.
